SiteOrigin Slider – problems showing on mobile phome

I’m having problems showing the SO Slider on mobile phone in portrait (works in landscape). All images/slides appear on top of each other.
There is no problems when viewed in landscape.
No problems either when turning the device back to portrait after having viewed the website on portrait.

For info: I tried to repeat the problem on my desktop when reducing the window to mobile size (portrait) but could not repeat the problem with Chrome or safari but the problem shows in firefox (the problem disappear after empty cache/reload).

Any ideas to fix this?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Olivier

Thanks for reaching out. Have you managed to resolve? All seems ok on my side.

    Hi Andrew,
First I’d like to notice you that I’ve been trying to move to premium support but keep on getting:

Your last action could not be completed
If you were making a purchase or sending money, we recommend that you check both your PayPal account and your email for a transaction confirmation after 30 minutes.
If you came to this page from another website, please return to that site and restart your activity site and restart your activity

I think I managed to go through the payment process but I’m not entirely sure. Can you please check this?

    Regarding the slider problem:
Nop, the problem is still the same on Iphones (I’ve tried with different Iphones 6 on Wifi and 4G) and resized firefox (I suppose this is not very important but could help pinpoint the problem).
I’ve taken snapshots to show you what it does:
    Firefox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/27f7c96p1z0owac/Screenshot%202016-08-25%2010.54.43.png?dl=0
    Iphone: https://www.dropbox.com/s/edi7r35efv8mgk2/IMG_9874.PNG?dl=0

We’ve also noticed that very often the same problem occur when navigating back to the home page (where the slider is) from any other pages of the website. When this happens it also creates a problem with the navigation not floating right of the logo anymore but underneath (which “breaks” the header. See snapshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/09xmgzlhox26lw7/Screenshot%202016-08-25%2011.01.59.png?dl=0 )

I wondered if “actions” were being called for both the Menu align right and the Slider but then realised that the problem happens even when the menu is toggle to Mobile menu.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers
    Olivier

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Olivier

Thanks for your support, sorry to hear about the hassle. We looked now and can’t see PayPal providing a reason for the payment being pending. It hasn’t gone through on our side. If it hasn’t on yours, would you perhaps like to try again. Are you able to login to PayPal and retry the transaction directly from your logged in PayPal view perhaps?

    Hi, I Work Here

I can’t replicate this issue in OS Firefox or iOS Safari, screens to follow.

What version of Firefox are you using? That looks like an older version of OS, is Firefox up to date?

    Hi, I Work Here

Here is Firefox in OS X.

    ff

I can now see the issue in iOS Safari, will investigate.

    Hi Andrew,

I tried a few times yesterday with the same result.
As the transaction didn't appear in my paypal account I tried again this morning from Paypal and it went through !! Yeepee !

Do I need to install the plugin for the premium support to be available?

    Hi Andrew,

My version of Firefox is 48.0.1.
I think it's the latest version I can get but I'm still running OS X 10.6.8. I'm planning on updating my "old" macbook Pro to Yosemite but I'm waiting for a quieter time work wise to do it.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for looking into the issue with IOS.

If it can help pinpoint the problem:
I've done some more testing in regard to the navigation problem I mentioned earlier (It doesn't float right anymore but shows underneath the logo when the slider doesn't work – This usually disappear when you refresh but comes back quite often – on many computers – when you navigate away and come back to the hompage) . I've found that as soon as I delete the slider (in page builder) and update the page, the navigation automatically shows on the right of the logo (as it should). If I had the slider back (i'm using the import layout option), update , refresh then the problem comes back.

Having used old MBP’s in the past, it’s worth Googling the upgrade for that model first. Hopefully, you’ll find users discussing their experience. Sometimes, it’s better to keep older machines on older versions of OS. Not related I know :)

    Slider

We’re also getting mixed results when testing the slider, also iPhone 6 and 6s Safari. Let’s try some basic troubleshooting steps, please, can you start with a plugin conflict test and let us know the results? Steps below.

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
