SiteOrigin Post Carousel Problem

I feel I’m missing something so close to the surface I’ll want to smack myself by the solution…
I’m very new to SiteOrigin and am just trying it out before I go Premium but am stumped by a problem with the Post Carousel widget. The theme I’m using is SiteOrigin North Version: 1.5.1 which I modified a bit. The WordPress version is 4.9.8.
The menu selections across the top work perfectly to navigate up and down the page but as soon as I select a blog post to read the menu becomes useless. I can see what is happening but have no solution.
When the site loads the URL is displayed in the address bar of Firefox 62.0.2 (64-bit) as: http://www.thewaywardmind.com/
Then I choose to read a blog post the address bar displays: http://www.thewaywardmind.com/2018/09/24/its-working-again-mostly/
Now I tap the menu selection to go to Contact Us and the address says: http://www.thewaywardmind.com/2018/09/24/its-working-again-mostly/#row-contact The page won’t come out of the blog post but the arrow buttons will load the posts correctly.
Otherwise everything else works flawlessly and I’m really liking using SiteOrigin to build this site.
Does anyone have any ideas where I could look to remedy this problem? Thanks for the support.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi TheWaywardMind,

Please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceMenu and open The Mind custom menu item. Prepend the URL with a forward slash /. Your URL will look like this: /#row-wayward . Please repeat this for the rest of the custom menu items.

Right now your menu items are resulting in the browser looking for #row-wayward on the post and as this id doesn’t exist on your post, it doesn’t do anything. This change will tell your browser to navigate to the home page and then look for the id.

This issue isn’t specific to the post carousel – any page that’s not the home page or post will be affected by this.

    Hi Alex…
Sorry I didn’t respond sooner. I tried your idea and it indeed brings me out but no matter which tab I tap it brings me out to the row-blog statement, the Post Carousel widget. Then everything operates as intended. Is that the only way or am I missing something? I tried adding a dot and a dot dot ahead of the forward slash but that didn’t work correctly either. Just wondering if this is the best we can do or is a different widget better used for this purpose? Thanks again for the assist.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi George,

So, to clarify, it’s scrolling to the wrong part page? if so, you’ll need to install and configure Page scroll to id to avoid that. Once installed please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage scroll to id. Tick Enable on WordPress Menu Links and set the Offset to #masthead. How does that look?

Please note that the widget you’re using doesn’t directly affect this as this would happen with any widget (or even without a widget).

    Alex…
Excellent! That works. I’m glad I purchased a Premium subscription. The support so far has been very good and my sites are looking better than ever. Thank you once again for the help.

Oh, just one more thing… Your Home page at SiteOrigin has an animated elephant. Is that done with a Premium plugin-widget? I believe I saw something related to that in the Premium package. Plus, the little sayings and quotes at the bottom right of your pages… is that available in one of the plugins-widgets also?
Thanks again… Now I believe I’ll be able to leave you alone now…

    Hi TheWaywardMind,

    Great to hear that helped!

Your Home page at SiteOrigin has an animated elephant. Is that done with a Premium plugin-widget? I believe I saw something related to that in the Premium package.

The premium functionality you’re referring too is the Block Animations.

Unfortunately, however, this functionality doesn’t replicate the elephant hover effect in the header – I’ve logged this as a feature request. We’re introducing additional hover functionality in the next update so you should be able to use the Block Animations in a somewhat similar manner.

Plus, the little sayings and quotes at the bottom right of your pages… is that available in one of the plugins-widgets also?

Unfortunately no, we don’t currently have a widget like this at this time. I’ve logged this as a feature request.

By the way, as you’re a premium user, you’re entitled to priority email support. If you would like to make use of that, please follow the instructions found on your Page: Dashboard (please refer to the support tab).
