I just wanted to bring this to someone’s attention. We noticed that our WordPress site which has SiteOrigin and Yoast installed was showing low SEO ratings. When I dug into the issue we ended up finding out that the warnings were actually being fulfilled. I contacted Yoast to make sure it wasn’t something they were doing. Come to find out there is apparently not enough code in the widgets for Yoast to pick up various features which are added outside of text such as call to action buttons, accordions, and possibly others. They recommend:
“”We had a close look at the edit page screen and noticed that the SiteOrigin page builder isn’t sending the button links in Call to Action widgets to the Yoast analysis. This explains why our plugin isn’t detecting any internal links on your page and is throwing a warning. Please reach out to the developers of the SiteOrigin page builder and bring this issue to them. They should be able to make the needed changes to their code so that the button links inside Call to Action widgets are sent to the Yoast analysis. This KB article will help them with the implementation: Can I add data to the page analysis?
Can you please add this into a future version of the widget bundles?
Hi Jennie,
I’ve logged this with the development team and it’ll be resolved in a future SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle update.
Please note that Yoast and Google analyses content in a different way so while Yoast isn’t picking up on the link, Google will.
Thank you! That was my understanding as well
