Siteorigin pagebuilder – not fully stretched

Hi,

Im working in zerif lite, but when I add a pagebuilder section with a texteditor section, it is not fully stretched to the right, were the background of the section is visible but the siteorigin panel do not stretch over. It works to the left. Ive tried to add the code in the custom CSS plug in but its not working.

    Hi MadsG

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    Hi Alex,

    Thank you for responding!

    At the moment I am working at a localhost via Mamp and the website is therefor not online.

    What I can do, is show you some pictures, with a description.
    I have discovered that it is not a “stretch problem” per se, but a problem within the software somehow, I expect.

    When I log in, I can see that the pagebuilder section is somehow dislocated as I can see some text to the left, not fully visible and at the same time, there are some “left-over” space in the right side, as shown beneath:

    Dislocation1

    Then when I activate customizer it is still dislocated:

    Dislocation 2

    Then when I minimize customizer it is all of the sudden in place:

    In place

    Here are some inspecting of the elements:

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi MadsG,

    Yeah, that is weird and thank you for the direct links.

    Okay. This is tricky because as I don’t have it right in front of me I can’t exactly tell you what the issue is. I however think it’s a conflict – be it a plugin, or theme conflict.

    Lets start with a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

    If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

    Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    Now, if the above issue didn’t fix the issue please try try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Is it just because I work with it in a localhost way – will it sort it self out when comming online? It seems like som script thingy going wrong, but I cant figure out, if I should correct it or what. I dont want future users to have do adjust their screen to get it to center, but at the same time I cant make any changes if the relocation, when adjusting something on the screen, then actualle would dislocate it?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi MadsG,

    I understand your frustrations, and I agree – this isn’t ideal and I don’t expect you to be happy with the potential of this being an issue long term. It’s just that this is really hard to diagnose without access to the website. Just to clarify. You’ve run all of the above tests correct? Any results?

    Oh sorry – I dident see you post, when I posted the last message – Ill try what you are suggesting and get back to you right away. Thank you!

    Ok – now I have checked it. I used Safari, as I dident want to clear my catch on my main browser. It had nothing to do with plug ins, however it seemed to be a themed related isue, as when I switched to hanover theme, it seemed to work, please see link:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/k5yf4zfrlg7it4m/Sk%C3%A6rmbillede%202016-02-19%20kl.%2011.43.44.png?dl=0

    Can we make it work with Zerif lite? I have build the entire website in that theme, and the only thing left is to fix the page builder issue. The would be great and a tremendous help and cadeu to your team.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi MadsG,

    I know this isn’t what you want to hear but… I’ve run some tests locally and I’m unable to replicate this. I think the only way I’ll be able to fix this issue is if I can actually see it.

    There is one last thing that might work. Could you try switching to an editor widget (which can be found in the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle) instead of a text widget?

  10. 8 years, 7 months ago MadsG

    Oh sorry, I should have been clear about that – I am using SiteOrigin pagebuilder, with the siteorigin editor in.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi MadsG,

    Just to confirm. What is the SiteOrigin Page Builder widget type you’re having an issue with?

  12. 8 years, 7 months ago MadsG

    Well, I have added a siteOrigin Page builder widget, which is set to fully strethched, within that widget is a siteorigin textwidget, wich seems to be working. The problem is that when the page builder is fully stretched it seems to be dislocated on the page, until i adjust the size of my screen by which it ‘jumps’ in place, or i activate and minimize the customizer sidebar.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi MadsG,

    Does the issue occur when you’re using a different widget type, or only when using the Page builder widget?

  14. 8 years, 7 months ago MadsG

    I just checked the themes coding for its sections and it says that its margins is -15px on both right and left – could that have anything to say ? Best regards

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi MadsG,

    It’s unlikely but it’s possible. Does the issue resolve when you set the margins to zero?

  16. 8 years, 7 months ago MadsG

    Try adding the siteorigin page builder option under the “about us”-section to recreate the problem – maybe it is the specific section there as a problem with?

  17. 8 years, 7 months ago Alex S
    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi MadsG,

    Could you please send me an export for the page where this issue is happening? That way I’ll have exactly the same settings. To do this open up the page with the widget, and click prebuilt layouts. Then click import / export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as file.io.

    Hi again Alex,
    Im sorry for the sporadically messages.
    I will upload the information within 15 minutes. In the mean time I think I have located the problem. In zerif lite, when adding to the “about-us”-section it automatically adds a hidden section called “our clients”. This is a speciel section, which the added widgets in this section is subdued to. The problem does not occur when adding the page builder to other sections on the page, therefore the problem must be located in this specific section. The coding for the section in the style.css is as following:

    /*–OUR CLIENTS –*/
    .our-clients {
    background: url(images/lines-dark.png) repeat-x center;
    margin-bottom: 40px;
    float: left;
    width: 100%;
    }
    .our-clients .section-footer-title {
    background: #eDeDeD;
    padding: 0 15px;
    color: #FFF;
    }
    .our-clients h2 {
    font-weight: 700;
    float:none;
    margin-top: 0;
    margin-bottom: 0
    }
    .client-list {
    padding-top: 5px;
    float: left;
    width: 100%;
    margin-bottom: 0px;
    }
    .client-list ul{
    margin: 0;
    }
    .client-list ul li {
    vertical-align: middle;
    display: inline-block;
    margin-right: 24px;
    padding-bottom: 15px;
    text-transform: uppercase;
    }
    .client-list ul li img {
    max-width: 130px;
    -ms-filter: “progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=80)”;
    filter: alpha(opacity=80);
    opacity: 0.8;
    -webkit-transition: all ease .55s;
    transition: all ease .55s;
    }
    .client-list ul li img:hover {
    -ms-filter: “progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=100)”;
    filter: alpha(opacity=100);
    opacity: 1;
    }
    .client-list ul li:last-child {
    margin-right: 0;
    }
    .client-list ul li i {
    margin-right: 8px;
    }
    .client-list div{
    margin: 0;
    }
    .client-list div a{
    margin-right: 24px;
    }
    .client-list div a:last-child{
    margin-right: 0;
    }
    .client-list div img {
    max-width: 130px;
    -ms-filter: “progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=80)”;
    filter: alpha(opacity=80);
    opacity: 0.8;
    -webkit-transition: all ease .55s;
    transition: all ease .55s;
    padding-bottom: 15px;
    }
    .client-list div img:hover {
    -ms-filter: “progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=100)”;
    filter: alpha(opacity=100);
    opacity: 1;
    }
    .client-list div a:last-child {
    margin-right: 0;
    }

    Can u figure out if the problem lies within?

    Best regards

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi MadsG,

    I’ve had a look at your page layout and think I need slightly more information. Could you take a screenshot of what the layout looks like before it “snaps” and after it has?

  23. 8 years, 7 months ago MadsG

    Dear Alex,
    I am very happy for your help, but I figured I had to move forward so I found a workaround. Instead of adding the page builder section at the bottom of the “about-us”-section, I added it at the top of the next section, and thereby worked around the issue. I am very glad you took the time to try and help me, but it seems that the problem is too big for an easy fix, so I choose to go another way – I hope that is okay with you.

    I will recommend your product to all WP’s and rate your product and customer service A+ within the week.

    Thank you soo much for your help.

    Hi MadsG,

    I’m sorry that I couldn’t resolve the issue in a timely manner. Thank you for the praise regardless and I thank you for the bottom my heart for recommending SiteOrigin as a whole.

    Hopefully our next run in is smoother. Best of luck.
