SiteOrigin Page Builder tab is gone

Hi,

I think I updated Page Builder when prompted by WP (I hardly even looked, just updated everything in bulk), and now the tab is gone from everything, all pages and posts, old and new. I can’t work on my site at all.

I looked at previous threads on the subject and tried all the fixes I found – deactivated all but Page Builder, cleared browser history – didn’t work at all.

Deactivated and reactivated plugin – nothing.

Uninstalled and reinstalled – nothing.

I run the Vantage theme and don’t use the two plugins I read tend to interact badly with Page Builder (the comprehensive Google map and some other one, can’t remember right now what it was).

I have zero knowledge in code and am feeling pretty anxious about the whole thing. Please help.

    Hi Shiraela,

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Shiraela,

I can’t seem to replicate the issue you’ve described. Can you please link me to a post you’re currently having issues with? Also, to clarify, are you able to replicate the issues you’re having in another browser?

  6. 8 years, 5 months ago shiraela

The problem manifests on every single post/page, both on chrome and on explorer. It’s as if I don’t have PageBuilder at all.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Shiraela,

I looked at about a half a dozen different posts and pages and they all worked without issue for me. Hm, can you please try replicating this issue on another computer?

  8. 8 years, 5 months ago shiraela

This is a plot twist – I tried to log in on a different computer and everything works perfectly! :-O

What could possibly be the problem with my computer??

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Shiraela,

To be honest, I have no idea. Did you recently install any software? Maybe you changed Anti-Virus something like that?
Hm. View the broken editor and could you please send me the contents of your console? Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.

I don’t recall making any changes to my computer recently, other than taking it on a trip to Sri Lanka. However, the computer I used to try and duplicate the problem was also taken on the same trip, and it worked just fine.

Here’s the content of the console while viewing one of my posts – hope this is what you were looking for (there’s an awful lot of red there…):

    Another twist…

All that red made me think this might be a browser error after all, so I downloaded Firefox just to make sure (remember I use Chrome and also tried it with Explorer) and it worked!

If you have any idea ow to make my Chrome behave that would be awesome. If not I’ll just switch to Firefox and hope it never flakes on me like that.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Shiraela,

Based on the provided console, this issue is likely related to one of your browser extensions. I would recommend temporarily disabling your extensions to see if that helps.

  13. 8 years, 5 months ago shiraela

I don’t believe this. I tried disabling the extensions on Chrome but it didn’t do anything, so I just switched to Firefox for anything site-related.
I was just editing a page when all of a sudden the browser couldn’t find the content – and then when it came back, PageBuilder was missing! It’s now missing on all posts and pages on Firefox too, and I’m stuck again.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Shiraela,

Hm. Okay, so it sounds like the problem isn’t your browser but something on your computer. Can you think of what you may have installed around the time when this issue popped up? Maybe try uninstalling that to see if it helps.

  15. 8 years, 4 months ago shiraela

    Nope…

Uninstalled everything that was added recently. There was a weird toolbar for filling government forms, google earth and dropbox. Every other program on my computer has been installed for at least 8 months. Tried both chrome and firefox again – nothing.

    Any other ideas…?
