SiteOrigin Page Builder conflict with Elementor

So after a few years of us running our website on WordPress, I have been tasked to make updates to the site to give a more modern feel. Our site was built with SiteOrigin Page Builder, and as I am trying to make changes to one of the pages, Upon making edits with Elementor and publishing it, I still end up with the same old page. It’s like the Page Builder immediately overwrites any changes I make on any page and I can’t seem to find the issue. I have cleared all the cache and tried lots of possible solutions but none seem to work. On the backend, everything looks good, but no changes reflect on the live page. What can be done about this?

    Hi, I Work Here

Hi, thanks for posting your question.

You’re running into a classic conflict: a page can’t use SiteOrigin Page Builder and Elementor at the same time. SO is still attached to that page (via its panels data), so it wins on the front end and overwrites what you publish in Elementor.

Two workable options (there may be other routes available):

Convert the existing page: open it in the WP editor (not Elementor) → Page Builder → Revert to Editor, confirm, clear the content, click Update, then Edit with Elementor and rebuild.

Or build fresh: make a new page in Elementor, build it, then change the old page’s slug (e.g., /about-old) and give the new page the original slug.

Afterwards, purge all caches (plugin, host, CDN).

Yes, I have undertaken these steps. Option 2 is the better method. Thank you for your guidance.
