I’m having trouble getting the SiteOrigin Google map plugin to appear in a widget area in the footer section of my site:
http://ydf.stinkfish.nl
It works perfectly when it appears in the body (applied using SiteOrigin PageBuilder). But when in the footer the only code that appears is (when interactive option checked):

When “static”” option checked:

The map does appear however in the preview option, but not when the widget state is saved.
I’ve deactivated /deleted / reapplied the plugin to the widget site. Re-installed the SiteBundle widgets bundle and updated it to version 1.11.8.

Its a great plugin and i don’t really want to have to change to another for the map to appear in different places in my site. TIA.

Google API: yes
Theme: Creativ Business
WordPress: 4.9.5
SiteBundle widgets bundle: version 1.11.8

    Hi StinkFish,

To clarify, does the map appear without issue in the content when Static is selected? I ask because I suspect your API key doesn’t have the correct API libraries selected for a static map. I would recommend creating a new API key via this link and using that API key instead.

    Hi Alex,
Yes the plugin is working in the “content” – http://ydf.stinkfish.nl/about/seamless-data-governance/
When placed as a widget in the “footer” area of the theme, it shows up in the preview but not when published. Static or Dynamic options make no difference to whether it appears.

The client actually doesn’t want it to appear there now so its not a problem for me. I did try other map plugins, which all had the same problem – so i think the problem may actually exist in the theme instead.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi StinkFish,

To confirm, does the static Google Map work when added to the content? I know it works when set to interactive but the static and interactive libraries aren’t the same so I’m trying to confirm you have all of the correct API libraries activated. Based on the other results, it seems very likely you didn’t have the correct API libraries enabled for the static map.

    Hi ALex,
I tried with the static option, and all it reveals is a “broken image”. It was never an option i had considered originally. But it’s getting more and more likely that its the theme that is the problem as no widgets are working in the footer area of the theme. Which is a shame as the creators highlight the fact that it’s SiteOrigin page builder compatible. They haven’t got back to my email about the problem. Thanks anyway.

    Hi StinkFish,

Thanks. The broken image is another indication that you do not have the correct API libraries activated for the static map. Please create a new API key via this link and using that API key instead.
