SiteOrigin Gallery — broken…

Hi, we have a bunch of galleries created with the Add Media button within the SiteOrigin PageBuilder text editor, and as far as I can tell these are correctly rendering the gallery code correctly. It looks like the following:

However, the galleries don’t appear…. there is just a series of photos that show up in the published post.

This was working correctly in the past, we can’t figure out what might be causing it not to work now. We can’t make new ones, and all of the old posts previously working also just show the photos without the gallery.

We’re using the Puro Ultra theme, that is a child. One thing I was wondering was whether updating the parent theme could somehow break the child theme?

Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Lawrence,

So, to clarify, by default there’s no special gallery functionality included with WordPress. It’s basically just a “grouping” of images by default. As such, you likely previously had a gallery plugin installed (or active) that allowed for the desired affect. I’m unsure of what you were previously using but I highly recommend WP Canvas – Gallery.

Updating a child theme can cause you issues if the older markup is retained (as in, you don’t update your child theme with changes made) but you’ll be fine if you only make minor edits to minor files.
