SiteOrigin Editor widgets won’t update

9 years ago · Last reply by jpgklassen 9 years ago

I’ve taken over a website and I’ve been asked to redesign it and update the content. The content was done using SiteOrigin Editor widgets. When I change the content inside the SiteOrigin Editor widgets and click the “Update” button, the changes do not stick. Edits to the widget titles do stick, however.

I backed up our site and disabled all plugins except Page Builder and SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. Updated WordPress and both plugins to the latest versions. Edits to SiteOrigin Editor widget content are still not sticking.

    Hi Jpgklassen,

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Hi Alex,

Thanks so much for responding. I actually fixed the issue last night after doing some more Google searching. Went to Users->Your Profile, checked the “Disable the visual editor when writing” box, SAVED CHANGES, then UNCHECKED the box and saved changes again. Once I did this the Visual, Text, and Page Builder tabs reappeared, TinyMCE editor reappeared in the SiteOrigin Editor widgets, and changes started saving again.

What a ridiculous way to fix the problem…
