SiteOrigin Editor: Service Unavailable

5 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 5 years ago

Dear support team,

unfortunately, there is a bug with the SiteOrigin Editor. Sometimes, when I want edit a blog post, it is not possible to access the editor. Then this error message shows up:

“Service Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.”

Usually, this type of error resists – and I have to copy the content of the post from my website (without format) and paste it in a new row with a new editor field (+ delete the old one). How can I fix this error? It is really annoying …

Best regards,
Michael

    Hi Michael

Thanks for reaching out. Please, can you try checking the JavaScript console when the error occurs? If there are error messages in red, please, take a screenshot, upload it to imgur.com or any cloud site and send us the link.

The console error will most likely be a 503 error. If that’s the case, there is a list of possible causes. The first step would be to temporarily deactivate all plugins not authored by SiteOrigin and then test to see if the issue persists. If the issue is intermittent, it’ll make that testing harder.
