SiteOrigin Editor is modifying my code by changing
to
.
Your forum modifies what I posted. How do I have it retain what I posted?
See Thread: Change the Title font case? … near the end is what I posted.
This does not happen with Visual Editor. It does not modify info under the Text tab.
Hi Bhs67,
This is perfectly normal due to how the WordPress (read: TinyMCE) editor works. Basically, it rewrites certain things and removes other things. Such as &nbps; There are ways to avoid this but I wouldn’t recommend doing it as it’ll lead to possible formatting issues overall.
Overall, if this isn’t desired, your best bet is to use the text widget. Although, that widget will likely start doing this as of 4.8 as well due to the upcoming enhancement.
It is not good to change code that is entered in the "Text" tab. This reduces a code writer's freedom.
SiteOrigin Editor does let me insert font size, which is good. People who know how to write code, should be allowed to do so.
Visual Editor does not change the contents in the "Text" tab. I am able to insert <br> anyplace … no problem.
If there is no solution for SiteOrigin Editor, I will switch back to
Visual Editor … even if it means upper case for the title.
Perhaps you have another solution? How would you insert blank lines above the text?
Hi Bhs67,
The code change is very minor and most will never notice. This is how the default WordPress editor handles things and it’s not something we’re looking at changing as a result.
This is significant … see attachment.
The end result for Visual Editor is much better than SiteOrigin
Editor. It is important to have the 1st and 3rd columns below the
Title.
I have lost interest in purchasing SiteOrigin Premium.
Hi Bhs67,
Please note that we’re unable to process attachments at this time.
I’m not too sure what visual editor you’re using but it uses non-standard code to handle the editor which is why it acts differently. For consistency reasons, we use the exact same code that the basic WordPress editor uses as people expect it to work in this manner. I know it’s not ideal for all situations and that’s why we recommend adding HTML to a text widget over the editor widget as a result.
Regardless of what editor you use, it’s very likely certain HTML will be stripped from the editor upon changing tab – such as iFrames.
Visual Editor is part of Black Studio TinyMCE Widget.
Go to http://download.foxping.com/ … WP.pdf … to see the problem.
Visual Editor works. SiteOrigin Editor does not.
Visual Editor has allowed all HTML code I've tried. This is HTML
"standard code".
Hi Bhs67,
It’s hard to know exactly why that’s happening without the actual HTML but based on the output, it looks like you have Automatically add paragraphs enabled. Try disabling that if you haven’t already.
I always disable the "automatically add paragraphs" when in the Text mode.
Here is my code:

Hi Bhs67,
Sorry for the delay.
We previously made a few changes to how the editor handle things. By the looks of it, those changes have indirectly affected your HTML. We’ve improved the previous changes as a result of that and the next update should handle the quoted HTML better overall.
