SiteOrigin Editor is adding paragraphs between rows on galleries

Hi,

Recently the Editor has started to add paragraphs between rows on image galleries is there any way of stopping it from doing this?

Example:

Many Thanks,
Ryan

    Hi, I Work Here

    HHi Ryan,

Please open the relevant SiteOtigin Editor and untick Automatically add paragraphs. Does that help?

    Hi Alex,

    Yes, I have tried that.

Here are two examples of what the outcome looks like with that option ticked and unticked.

    With ‘Automatically add paragraphs’ ticked

With it being ticked there is space generated between each row in the gallery and after.

    Without ‘Automatically add paragraphs’ ticked

Without it being ticked there is now reduced space between and after the gallery rows as well as removing the space from under the plain text and bold text above the lists.

Hope that helps to explain the problem better, any way to fix/work around this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Ryan,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? Also, would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget and click layout in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Ryan,

Preface: It’s no longer possible for you to privately post links directly via the forums.

I’m unable to replicate this issue via the exported layout. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Alex,

I have just tried a few plugins, and by deactivating ‘Lightbox Plus Colorbox’ the paragraphs disappear from between gallery rows, but then the gallery does not display as four columns as set, it is forced to 3. Perhaps this plugin is causing the gaps in the gallery.

Is there any chance I could send you a link privately please so you can have a quick look at that page before I start disabling all of the plugins as on some of them I will have to re-enter all of the settings again.

    Thanks.

    Hi Alex,

I have fixed the issue with the paragraphs between the gallery rows, I think it is related to the plugin ‘Lightbox Plus Colorbox’. Although, there never used to be a problem with this plugin.

Is there any way of fixing the issue with the text when‘Automatically add paragraphs’ is unticked?

This is what it looks like when inspected.

    I have tried to add

tags around it in the ‘code’ section and tried even adding breaks, but nothing seems to work?

    Many Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Ryan,

Unfortunately, this sort of issue is caused by how the plugin is outputting the gallery code. I’m unsure why this is happening now but it’s lately related to a recent plugin update. I would recommend reporting this issue to the plugin developer as this isn’t really something we can fix without forcefully removing paragraphs (which will cause more issues in general). Sorry mate. :(

Thanks Alex, I have found a workaround for now. Appreciate all the help.
