Although there’s content on my page and I can see a preview of the first sentence when looking at the Edit Page, When I click on SiteOrigin Editor the window is blank. I also can’t click in the box where content should go. I tried deleting the editor on a few pages, copying content from the browser view and pasting into a new SiteOrigin Editor, but when I tried to edit again the same thing happens. It’s happening on new pages and ones we’ve had for years. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Sam
Hi Sam,
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Hello,
I have the same problem. There is content on my page but the edit page is blank and the live editor too. There is only a blanket row. Before one hour all works fine and suddenly it doesn’t work anymore. I haven’t changend anything. I have only updated my page.
I have clear my cache and I tried to re-enabling my plugins. The problem is still there.
Thank you for help. I am desperate and want to finish my page :(
So a friend of mine just told me that it’s a problem with the Visual Editor widget, which is based on a different plugin. Haven’t figured out a way to fix it though :/
Hi Sam,
Sorry for the delay.
To clarify, are you having issues with the visual editor widget added by Jetpack or the added by Black Studio TinyMCE?
I haven’t installed the Visual Editor.
When I start the editor there is html code for a second and after a second there is a blank element of page builder.
When you look at the js is there any error?
In my case “Error loading data: Cannot read property ‘length’ of undefined – siteorigin-panels-24.min.js:2”
(Sorry English isn’t my first language)
Hi Lea3678,
Sorry for the delay.
To clarify, is this only effecting a specific page or is it all pages?
Could you please create a new thread and link me to it so I can reply to that with an account request?

Hi Alex,
I have TinyMCE Advanced installed, but I was having these problems even before I installed it. The problem is in viewing the SiteOriginEditor. The problem is with trying to edit in SiteOrigin Editor. Is there a way I can attach screen shots here of what I see?
Hi Sam,
You’ll need to upload the image to a third party image hosting site – such as vgy.me.
So, to clarify, your previous comment suggested you were using a different plugin. Could you elaborate on what your friend todl you?
Also, if possible, would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget and click layout. Then click import / export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.
Hi Alex,
Sorry for the delay, I was away at a convention. I do really want to get this resolved. So to answer your question, I have no idea what my friend was talking about. He was the guy who’s job I took over, I don’t know him well so I can’t really contact him to ask, he just seemed to acknowledge that there was an issue. I’m pretty new to all this stuff, so sorry I can’t be more helpful.
I exported the layout like you asked here: https://u.teknik.io/KeBno.json
I can edit the SiteOrigin Post Carousel, but when I try to edit text on the SiteOrigin Editor I cannot. See screenshots here: https://vgy.me/a/rAwemDDC
Any page on which I use SiteOrigin Editor looks like this.
Thanks for your help on this.
Hi Sam,
Very sorry for the delay.
I’m able to open the editor without issue. :(
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

Sure, I’ve created you an admin login and sent you the details.

Strangely it works for me in that account too. Maybe I just need to create a new account and work from there? I donĀ¹t understand it but if it fixes the problem I guess that works.
And now it’s stopped working again in my new account. I havent changed anything, I only logged out and logged back in. It looks the exact same and I can’t edit any of the pages using SiteEditor. Please help.
Hi Sam,
So to clarify, does it still work in the account you created me? Hm. Switch to your main account and try navigating to WP AdminUsersYour Profile and checking the Visual Editor setting. Is that setting disabled (ticked)?
No it’s not disabled, the box is not ticked. I deleted the account I created you when I thought things were working again, but I can create another one.

And to answer your question, when I log in to that new login I just made you (“”sireorigin””… woops), I am still seeing the same issue
Hi Sam,
Hm. Now it’s happening for me also – it previously wasn’t. I just checked the error messsage and it’s a common sign of a plugin conflict. To clarify, have you run a plugin conflict test? If not, please refer to my first reply.
Just ran a plugin conflict test. The problem occurs when either of the following plugins are activated:
1. Advanced Custom Fields by Elliot Condon
2. Black Studio Tiny MCE Widget by Black Studio
Sorry to jump in, but I’m having the same problem. I deleted Black Studio Tiny MCE Widget at the network multi-site level but am still getting a blank screen when I try to create/edit any post/page. Maybe it’ll be easier to diagnose by seeing what our sites have in common?

Hi Sam,
That’s odd. Both plugins should work without issue, in fact, I just tried both versions locally and they didn’t result in any issues. :(
Can I make a backup of your website for local testing? This will allow me to make vast changes to your website without it affecting the website itself.
Yes sure
Hi Sam,
Thanks. I was able to resolve this issue by updating Customizr and updating ACF (the ACF update may not be required). Can you try updating the theme?
I just did and I can edit with both those plugins activated now! Thanks so so much for all your help on this Alex!
Hi Sam,
Awesome. Happy I could help mate. :)
