SiteOrigin compatibility issue with WPML Advanced Translation Editor

5 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 5 years ago

Hi,

I am trying to contact both parties (WPML and SiteOrigin) to see if a fix can be negotiated.

My entire website is built around SiteOrigin, but my site is also in 10 languages. Unfortunately, WPML’s most useful feature–the “Advanced Translation Editor”–mistakenly recognizes SiteOrigin’s HTML as strings of text, and makes a critical error of translating HTML into “Spanish HTML” etc by accident, destroying the layout of the web pages. I’m not sure why this happens as the SiteOrigin page builder plugin is seemingly compatible with WMPL in every other regard.

Here is a thread from my discussion about this with WPML: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/advanced-translation-editor-translating-html-by-mistake/

I am wondering if there is any advice you can offer me on how to fix this / why it might be the case / if a potential fix is foreseeable and how long away it might be if so.

Many thanks,
NF

    Hi NF

    Thanks for reaching out.

We were in contact with the WPML technical team as recently as mid-October. As far as I understand, work is underway to assess the viability of adding Page Builder compatibility with the Advanced Translation Editor. At the moment, I don’t have a timeline for completion. Once the WPML team have completed their initial investigation, we’ll know more and perhaps have a timeline to offer.
