SiteOrigin Buttons stopped working

I’m not sure since when this is happening but it seems there is no way to save changes to the default settings when a SiteOrigin Button is created and modified in an already existing page or post. Even when modifying buttons that were created a while ago, modified and saved without any issue don’t get saved when making modifications now. I’m using the latest version of both WordPress and SiteOrigin.

    I just solved this issue by updating the PHP version on my server from 5.6 to 7.2
