Siteorigin blocks don’t respond on mobile view

5 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 5 years ago

Hello,

I need help with the following issues:

1. The headlines block turns vertical on a mobile view instead of being horizontal as it appears on a laptop or a bigger screen. Can I keep it horizontal on mobile view as well?

2. The post carousel block is cut in the end and doesn’t look the same as it is on a laptop or a bigger screen. Is there any way I can fix that?

Both issues are found at the home page of the website: https://elmanati.net

Thank you in advance.

    Hi Olympiamo

    Thanks for reaching out.

    1. Please, can you let us know an example of a SiteOrigin Headline Widget showing this issue?

    2. This is currently the expected behavior of the Carousel widget on mobile. Users can use touch actions to scroll through the available posts.

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your response.

Please see attached the headline widget that is showing the issue. The widget works fine on laptop in horizontal orientation but collapses in vertical orientation on mobile. Can I keep it horizontal in all screen sizes?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks

When editing a row, try opening the Layout section. There you can make use of:

    Collapse Behaviour
    Standard or No Collapse

    Collapse Order
Default, Left On Top or Right On Top

Hopefully, that helps. If you’d like for no collapse to take place, set Collapse Behaviour to No Collapse.

I tried this option but the text is shown in vertical orientation, so it's not well readable.

Wherever you’ve set left and right padding (50px), you can use the Mobile Padding setting to set that to 0 for mobile. However, even with padding reduced, there probably won’t be enough space to fit the four Headline widgets nicely in one row for mobile. You can also try making sure FitText is enabled for each Headline widget.

I see. Thank you for your help Andrew.

Sure, no problem. Please, let us know if you have any trouble finding the relevant Mobile Padding setting to adjust the existing padding for mobile devices.
