Site slow to load

My website is loading very slowly for all pages. I don’t know how to investigate it. It is using the vantage premium theme. It uses a number of plugins.

Could someone advise me on how to investigate this?

I think it could be because I have maps with gpx routes on them. They have lots of points.

Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks for your reaching out.

    This is definitely an intermediate level item to try investigate. There are many factors that play a role, hosting is a big one.

    The first thing I’d try is running the basic setup of: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/. Give that a go and see where you are afterwards.

    I’ve installed WP Super Cache. It’s still very slow. Do I need to change settings on it?

    This isn’t my area of speciality but I’ll do what I can to help.

    Try using that as your starting point.

    There is only one setting we can help with in terms of theme functionality: Appearance > Theme Settings > General > Enqueue JavaScript in Footer. Enable that setting.

    Then within WP Super Cache you’d need to turn on the basic settings. Here is a guide you could run through: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-install-and-setup-wp-super-cache-for-beginners/

    I configured Super Cache and the score the google analyzer gave me went up a lot. I think you’ve provided me with plenty to get on with. Thanks for you help.
