Site Origins Builder Not Working, Please Help?!

Notice: This thread is over two years old; the information may be outdated. Please consider creating a new thread if you require free support. If you have an active SiteOrigin Premium license, you can email our premium support desk at [email protected].

I’m using the “DWTrendy” theme, which came with the Origins Site Builder, and I am using WordPress 5.3.2.

We haven’t done much with this site in a long time except run updates. Today, I logged in to make content updates; I’ve lost my ability to edit pages with the site origins builder — or even blocks — or anything. It’s as if my content is gone.

I have already tried turning off all other plugins except the panels plugin and the widgets bundle plugin. I still cannot edit any of the pages. How do I fix this? Someone please help me?

Thanks, M.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mary

Try temporarily deactivating all plugins except for those authored by SiteOrigin, next, temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen. In that configuration, does the issue persist? If so, please, take a screenshot of the issue, upload to imgur.com and send us the link.

    Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mary

Glad to hear you’re making progress.

When the issue occurs there are most likely JavaScript errors present in the developer console. Here is how to view the console https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/#step-3-diagnosis. If there are errors you could screenshot them and perhaps send them to the theme developers.

It looks like the theme developer just kinda dropped off. They haven’t made any updates to this theme since 2015. I think for this project, I will need to reassign a new theme for my client. She let her site sit for so long… untouched!

**For a good laugh: Currently, I’m making her edits in twenty nineteen and then re-activating her broken theme to display the site. LOL

I really appreciate your answers, thank you so much! :)
    Have a great rest-of-the week,

    Hi, I Work Here

Glad to hear you’ve found a way of making edits for the time being. If it makes more sense to stick with the theme due to the amount of work it might take to switch themes then you could hire a developer to help resolve the issue. Codeable is one site you might consider if you’re looking to hire.

    Cheers :)
