Hi Support Forum,
We’re running a WordPress site hosted by Site5. Our Worpress version is v.6.4.3 with PHP version: 7.4.33. We have Site Origin Page Builder and Site Origin Widgets Bundle active and installed (running version is: v.1.58.7), and have never had an issue until the latest update to Widgets Bundle v.1.58.9. Upon hearing that our embedded calendar, loaded with an iFrame, wasn’t showing, I did some testing, and concluded that it was the update to SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle v.1.58.9 that broke all JavaScript, Jquery, and iFrame page content. When I create the iFrame on a test page that does not use PageBuilder (or Site Origin widgets), it works fine.
Also, when I restored my site from our latest backup, that fixed the issue by rolling back the Site Origin Widgets Bundle to v.1.58.7. I confirmed this by running the update again to v.1.58.9 and verifying that indeed, the content again broke. There were no other changes made to the site between it working and its breaking upon updating to Widgets Bundle v.1.58.9.
Please advise, we use the widgets bundle and Page Builder extensively on our site.
Many thanks!
Hi Editor; thanks for posting your detailed query and feedback.
Please find below a link to beta releases for Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle:
https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/siteorigin-panels.2.29.6-beta.zip
https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/so-widgets-bundle.1.58.10-beta-1.zip
Once both ZIP files are on your desktop, they can be installed from PluginsAdd NewUpload Plugin.
Please let us know if any issues persist. If you aren’t online, there shouldn’t be any need to install the beta releases, as the updates will officially go out before we log off tonight at GMT. If you are online and have a moment, it would be great if you could install the beta releases and let us know if you spot any follow-up issues. We’ve done extensive testing but would appreciate any additional help we can get.
Kind regards
Andrew
Hi Editor. Page Builder 2.29.6 and Widgets Bundle 1.58.10 have been released. Please let us know if there are any follow-up queries.
Kind regards, Andrew
Hi Andrew, and thanks for the response. I appreciate it. I do see new updates queued in WordPress;
PageBuilder update to 2.29.6
Widgets Bundle update to 1.58.10
I’m going to hold off on these updates for a bit, and keep an eye on the blog/forum to see if there are any issues. We’re working ok with the rollback to previous versions of these plugins, so we can wait a bit to see if the new updates correct the issues with the previous update version. It was certainly the Widgets Bundle update to v.1.58.9 that broke the content.
Thanks again.
Editor.
Hi, thanks for the update. The Block Editor allows for data to be directly edited, and that could result in a security issue. We made an adjustment to account for that, and it had some negative knock on effects like this. We’ve identified a way to account for this issue without those knock on effects, and we’ve rolled out that change.
