Site Origin Post Carousel sticky post behavior

On the Site Origin Post Carousel, if you mark a post as ‘sticky’ and set the query to “default” or “include sticky,” the result is that -only- sticky posts are included on the carousel, but no other posts appear. Is that intentional?

If I set it to ignore sticky posts, the carousel works properly. I would think that if you included sticky posts, the sticky post would show up first on the carousel and the others after?

Thanks.

    Hi Jaspe,

Would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget and click layout. Then click import / export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jasper,

The include option is actually mislabeled – it should be, only as that’s what it’s actually meant to do (this should be corrected in the next version).

The default option is the actual include option (and it is for me). Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look at your setup? This will allow us to look into why this may not be working as expected.

Also, just to rule it out, would you mind ruling out a plugin conflict to rule out a plugin changing how the query works? For reference, here’s the typical plugin conflict test:

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
