Site Origin Page Builder not working after latest WP update

Hi,
The Page Builder plugin does not work after the update, no matter what I do.
It does not show in the WordPress editor anymore, the widgets are gone, and yes, I have deactivated all plugins except siteorigin and yes cleared cache. Unfortunately nothing. I have also deactivated and deleted the Page Builder plugins and installed it again and still does not show up in the Edit Page.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi, thanks for reaching out.

Try extending the test as follows. Switch to the Twenty Twenty theme temporarily, next, deactivate all plugins except for Page Builder, temporarily. Finally, go to Pages, edit a page, have you found a working baseline in this state?

Any JavaScript errors on the page can break other plugins using JavaScript, this extended test should hopefully allow a working baseline to be found.

    Thanks for prompt reply.
Yes, I have switched to the Twenty Twenty theme temporarily and the Page Builder was working fine, then I deactivated all plugins except for Page Builder and found working OK as well, but when I switched back to my original theme, I found the plug in not working again.
Any help is very much appreciated.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Super, that’s great progress.

The issue might relate to the removal of jQuery Migrate in WP 5.5. The jQuery Migrate Helper plugin will let you know which plugins and or theme requires an update to resolve functions no longer included in WordPress. Perhaps, give it a try.

Alternatively, deactivate all plugins, including those authored by SiteOrigin. Edit a page and open the browser console, here is how. If there are console errors in red showing, take a screenshot and send the screenshot with a request to your theme support. Hopefully, they can assist via an update.

    Hi,
Yes, installed the jQuery Migrate Helper plugin and Bingo!!! and all SiteOrigin plugins work again.
    Thank you!!!
I know this is a temporary solution but it will give me time to search for answers to this problem. I am not sure if there is help from the theme support, as the webpage theme was created by the Artisteer program years ago. I think, it might be wise to rebuild the website entirely instead.
The jQuery Migrate Helper generated the following warnings:
    jQuery.fn.live() is deprecated
jQuery.fn.attr(‘checked’) might use property instead of attribute

Any thoughts on that? …much appreciated.
    Thank you again.

    Hi, I Work Here

Super, glad to hear you’re making progress. If there is no file path before those warnings then I think they might be generated by the theme. You could check by temporarily switching to another theme and see if the warnings change. The functions mentions are deprecated and only included in jQuery Migrate, once that’s removed and the functions are called an error will be produced which negatively impacts other functionality using JavaScript. You could potentially search the theme code to see if the functions are necessary, perhaps the functionality can be removed if it isn’t being used.

    Hi!
Thanks for taking the time to point me in the right direction. Very much appreciated!
I have checked and you are right, the theme has definitely deprecated code functions that must be removed. At this time, I am not sure where to look for it, but somehow will have to find the solution.
    Thank you again!

    Hi, I Work Here

Sure, no problem. You could perhaps seek out another jQuery Migrate plugin, perhaps one that has a dismissable warning, you could then use that as a more long-term solution. Another option might be to hire a developer to lend a hand. Codeable.io is one option for hiring WordPress developers.
