Site Origin buttons are being displayed as just links

Hi,

A site that i administer has recently stopped displaying the Site Origin Buttons properly. None of the styling is visible to end users, with only links being present.

You can see an example here: http://saragoodwin.co.uk/yoga/

Near the middle of the page, you should see just a link (anchor text ‘book a session’) and no red button with white text (which is what should happen).

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Charlie

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Charlie,

This looks like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

      Hi Alex,

      Thanks for responding so promptly.

I’ve disabled all non-Siteorigin plugins and cleared the cache using chrome developer tools. The problem still persists.

I’m using the WordPress Twenty Seventeen theme which is one of their defaults.

      What else can i try?

      Cheers,
      Charlie

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Charlie,

Please get in contact with your hosting provider and ask if they can check if wp-content/uploads/siteorigin-widgets/ exists and if it is, is writeable by PHP?

    • 7 years, 6 months ago Charlie Thornton

      Hi Alex,

I’ve just been in touch with my hosting provider, they said:

“From what I can see the directory exists and is writable by the server.”

      Any other suggestions?

      Cheers

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Charlie,

Hm. Can you try clearing W3 Total Cache to see if that helps? To do this, please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPerformanceDashboard and click Empty all Caches at the top of the page. Does the button work now?

      Hi Alex,

Thanks for sticking with me. That hasn’t worked either! I emptied all caches and then refreshed my browser’s cache and they’re still presented as pure text links. :(

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Charlie,

Oh. Wait, you also have Cloudflare (I didn’t see that until just now). Can you please clear that, your W3 Total Cache and your browser cache?

    • 7 years, 6 months ago Charlie Thornton

      Hi Alex,

When i ’empty all caches’ on the W3 Total Cache dashboard, it does that for cloudflare too. Is that what you meant?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Charlie,

Ah, didn’t realize you had the two connected.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look at your overall settings? Also, would it be possible for me to create a backup of your website so I can make a few changes without affecting your main website?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Charlie,

Oh. You changed upload path. Can you ask your hosting provider to check public_html/files-and-pictures for the correct permissions?

    • 7 years, 6 months ago Charlie Thornton

      Hi Alex

I got them to change the permissions, this is what they said:
“I have made sure that the folder files-and-picutres has the correct permissions “755” in order to be used.”
But to me all the buttons are still just text links.

Take a look at http://saragoodwin.co.uk/yoga/ and tell me what you think.

      Cheers
      Charlie
