Hello,
I have a pretty serious situation.
I use SiteOrigin Page Builder v2.10.16 and SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle v1.16.1 on my organisation’s website.
I tried to log in to the backend today (after not having logged in in several weeks), and I was met with this message :

Fatal error: Class ‘PLL_Wizard’ not found

My domain administrator is HostGator, so I went to HostGator chat assistance and they told me this :

as what I can see, a plugin is causing the issue.
I understand how important this is for you. No worries, you have me here on the line and I will make sure that everything will be taken care of.
Do you mind if I put you on hold for 3-5 minutes? I’m just checking a few things and I’ll be back with you very soon.
Thank you for waiting. I have confirmed that your plugins is causing the issue, Saesem. I have disabled the plugins for the mean time and please take a minute to check your websites widgets.

The chat was open in a window with no sound notifications so I wasn’t aware when they were active in it. I wasnt able to hold a live conversation with them.

No when I go to my website, everything that is built from SiteOrigin plugin has disappeared and been replaced with this:

[siteorigin_widget class= »SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget »][/siteorigin_widget]
[siteorigin_widget class= »SiteOrigin_Widget_Image_Widget »][/siteorigin_widget]
[siteorigin_widget class= »SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget »][/siteorigin_widget]

This is pretty serious, and I’m a complete noob at WordPress. I did not build this site. Inherited it from a past employee. I can now access the backend and I tried going into ‘Extensions’ and reactivating my two SiteOrigin plugins, but it changed nothing.
Please help!!

Gabriel

    Update :
I got most of my homepage back up and running at least. I went into the pages tab in wordpress, went to my homepage, went to Page builder editor and simply clicked “Update” and most of my homepage came back up (minus my slider).
Links on my homepage to other Page Builder pages on my site are also working, but other of my site’s links to those same pages don’t work (they just bring you back to the homepage).

    Hi saesem

Thanks for reaching out. Please, send a link to a page with broken Page Builder links, let us know which part of the page to check for the buttons/links and we’ll take a look.

Hi Andrew, thanks for your reply.
    My site is at http://ecoquartierpetermcgill.org/
In the navigation bar near the top, where you can navigate to many pages on the site, almost none of the links work!
Please let me know what your diagnosis is and if you need any more information.

Hi G, can you give me an example of a main menu link that doesn’t work? I tried several and couldn’t find a link that didn’t direct to a page.

    HI Andrew,
That’s odd. Almost none of them work for me. If I click for example ‘À propos’ then ‘Notre mission’, I’m brought right back to the homepage. The website is in French.
    Thanks,

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks, I see the issue.

If you’d like, you can start by ruling SiteOrigin out. Go to Plugins and temporarily deactivate all SiteOrigin plugins, check to see if the issue persists in that state. I don’t think SiteOrigin is involved in the issue, this test will help to confirm that.

The English URL isn’t available, it redirects http://ecoquartierpetermcgill.org/mission/. The French URL is available, you can go to http://ecoquartierpetermcgill.org/fr/mission/.

Some random ideas. Go to SettingsGeneral, check that your WordPress and Site URL’s are correct. Go to SettingsReading, check that your home page is correctly defined. Go toSettingsPermalinks and click Save. Are you using a translation plugin like LocoTranslate to manage the French and English pages? If so, check the settings for that plugin. You could also try a complete plugin conflict test, temporarily deactivate all plugins to see if the issue resolves.

    Hi Andrew,

You’re right about ruling out SiteOrigin. I deactivated it and the problem persisted (in fact, nothing on the site appeared to have changed).
The permalinks settings suggestion worked. Incredible.
I got my English translation back by reactivating my Polylang plugin, and some others that weren’t working. In fact, all my other plugins were deactivated.
I guess that when I contacted HostGator with my connection problem, they just deactivated ALL my plugins. Kind of rude I think!

Thank you so much for your help!

    Hi, I Work Here

Super, really glad to hear you’re making progress. It’s normal to deactivate all plugins to establish a working baseline. The next step is to reactivate your plugins one by one to find the culprit though.

All the best with your site :)
