Hi SO,
Whenever we edit a page with SO page builder we get a 503 error and the edit is not saved.
Have you een this with anyone esle?
I seem to remember things being fine until the WP core update earlier this year where WP started using the blocks format.
Best regards,
Bob
Hi SO,
So I did more research on the WordPress Forum and see that another user has the same or similar problem (shabaz001 https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cannot-use-string-offset-as-an-array-3/).
We have already disabled all plugin’s and started to re-code the site in HTML because we have isolated the issue to SO, but would rather use SO.
This only happens on pages that use SO Page Builder, which are typically very long content and image-heavy “pillar” pages.
Pgaes we don’t use SOPB on work fine.
Best,
Bob
Hi Bob
Thanks for reaching out.
The error you’ve described isn’t a common issue. To put this another way, there isn’t a bug open on our end that is related to this problem.
Thanks for starting the troubleshooting process. Please, can you run a few more tests? If you’re using a caching plugin, clear it. Next, temporarily deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins and at the same time switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen. Test for the issue, does it persist? This is a quick test, we’re just looking for a working baseline.
If the above test isn’t helpful, try installing Server IP and Memory Usage plugin. Once activated, check the footer in the WordPress admin. What’s the available PHP memory set to? If WP is limited to 40MB try increasing your available PHP memory. There are various methods: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/fix-wordpress-memory-exhausted-error-increase-php-memory/.
If you’ve increased PHP memory to 256MB or 512MB and the issue persists with all non-SiteOrigin plugins deactivated and a default theme activated then please check, does the issue occur on all pages or only some pages? If it only occurs on some pages, please, export the page from Layouts > Import/Export > Download Layout and upload that file to WeTransfer.com and send us a link. No email address is required.
Thanks :)
