showing an title from a siteorigin-blogpst on startpage

Hey guys,

I have a difficult question and I really hope you can help me :)
I love this pagebuilder plugin and it works well. Now I want to go the next step.

You can see on my startpage (4001Reviews.de) in the “NEUESTE BEITRÄGE”-section there are only the normal titles of posts right now. Under this title I want to show now the extra title from a post like the one in this post (Ein neues Serien-Epos setzt die Segel). This extra title I created with the pagebuilder plugin. How I can do this?

Yours sincerely
Sandro

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi supreme

    Thanks for reaching out.

Page Builder needs a content area to operate in. If your home page sections are being automatically generated by your theme then Page Builder doesn’t have anywhere to insert itself. Put another way, how is your home page created? Can you go to Pages > Home and edit the page or is it put together with a series of theme settings?

    Hey Andrew,

thanks for the answer. I know I can´t do this in this way but I will do that via child theme. I can edit the files and therefore I hope I can change this maybe. Do you have some tipps so?

The home page being generated by some widgets.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for your feedback. If you’re able you could create a new widget area in your child theme and display that widget area in the location you want it in the home page template. You could then add a Layout Builder widget to your new widget area from Appearance > Widgets and work with Page Builder that way.

Thank you for your quick answer.

I have some questions about the Layout Builder widget. I have found it…now I want to create a widget which shows the last X posts with the headline I talking about, its featured image and the normal post title. How can I do that? I didnt found anything, just to build a new widget with own textareas etc.

    Yours sincerely
    Sandro

P.S.: I added a screenshot which shows you the headline “widget” I used for my posts and I want to show in the “last post widget”. Only for better understanding.

    Hi, I Work Here

Sure :) The only post loop widget currently in the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle is the Post Carousel widget. If you want to check out another blog style widget, check out:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-for-siteorigin/

The above plugin has a blog widget with a few options.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for your feedback.

    To confirm:
To show posts in a page using Page Builder you need to use a post loop widget of some sort.
SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle offers the Post Carousel widget.
Widgets for SiteOrigin offers the Blog widget.
There are also other plugins out there like Query Wrangler that will allow you to build a post loop.
Without a post loop you can’t display a list of posts in Page Builder.
It isn’t possible to build a new widget from within the Page Builder interface.

When you use a Post Loop widget you’re reliant on the layout provided by that widget. Have you tried the Blog widget provided by the plugin Widgets for SiteOrigin? If that template doesn’t display the Headline widget from your posts or doesn’t display it in the order you’d like, unfortunately, there isn’t anything else we can offer at this stage. What you’d then need is a custom loop template which would require custom development.
