Shortcodes issue

10 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 10 years ago

Hi,

I have been trying to add a shortcode used with a plugin. The shortcode looks like this: {keyword} and it works just fine if I place it into a page using the general wp editor. But, when I paste it into any of the SiteOrigin Page Builder Widgets, like the SO Editor Widget, it does not work…. Why?

Please advise how I can get shortcodes to work in the SO Widgets.

Thanks,

John

    Hi John

    Thanks for reaching out.

There, unfortunately, isn’t usually a quick fix for this. In most cases the plugin author will need to make a small enhancement to their plugin to ensure shortcodes render in Page Builder.

What you can do is try the regular WordPress Text widget and see if that renders differently. It’s worth a quick try.

A final test to run is to see if the shortcode works in a Text widget in the Appearance > Widgets > Sidebar area. That should help narrow down the challenge for the plugin author.
