Olivia’s Coffee House

I have some short short code on the homepage to the left of the main text. It’s not working but if I put the same short code on a test page it works fine. Any ideas please?

    Hi Craig

Does the shortcode work if you insert it into a normal theme widget area like sidebar or footer?

    Thanks

Yes, it works on a test page just not the homepage. Tried different shortcode from different plugins but nothing works in that page builder section

    Hi, I Work Here

Hi Craig, thanks, I’m specifically asking if it works within a widget outside of Page Builder. The only place to test that would be a theme widget area like sidebar or footer.

So, adding this shortcode ([fb_plugin page href="https://www.facebook.com/oliviascoffeehouserugby" tabs="events"]) Doesn't appear on the page but when I click customise so the side bar appears they all appear on the preview.  I click Publish, they go…

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks.

If the shortcode doesn’t function in a Text widget at AppearanceWidgets, it’s unfortunately, unlikely to function in a Text widget in Page Builder. You can try the Text, Custom HTML and SiteOrigin Editor widgets to be sure. If the result is the same you could contact the plugin author and ask if they can assist with getting the shortcode to function within a widget.

But it does work on another page that I haven't used site origins for if that makes sense

    Hi, I Work Here

I’m with you. The challenge is whether or not the author has set up the shortcode to work within widgets. Unfortunately, the manner in which the shortcode renders is beyond our control, the logic for that behaviour lies in the source plugin. Checking whether the shorcode renders in widgets is a good check to run before checking to see if it runs in a widget in Page Builder. In either case, the author of the shortcode would need to make the adjustment within the plugin.

It did used to work. I might try a toll back plugin to see if it's an update. Thanks for looking into it though..

    Hi, I Work Here

WP Rollback is an easy way to try that: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-rollback/
