Set up WooCommerce Shop Page

I’m using Vantage Theme and have a store with lots of products (essential oils and herbal). I’ve studied all the tips and basics, but I can’t see how to build a shop page with product sliders under each category. Do you think it is possible to do this using Site Builder?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Liz,

You’re able to use Page Builder on the shop page, but please note that it won’t replace the default shop page – everything will still appear the same below the Page Builder contents.

WooCommerce doesn’t include product sliders by default so you’ll need to install a plugin that adds them. This plugin looks to be a good option.

Hmm thank you for the reply. You mean to say if I get this plugin it will give me sliders and I can put categories on the shop page? That would be good. But I need the product description to be there as well. I'm just looking at that now. If I do this I will be quite happy to pay for the
    Premium Page Builder
I'm just learning how to use it better to see if I want the premium version. I'm sure it would be way better and good to have the support.

Oh one more question Alex! If I have a custom home page built with Page
Builder, can I add a slider on there which is NOT a widget of Page Builder?
Just a normal plugin? (I found a plugin which gives me the product short description on hover which is what I want – the one you suggested is very nice but it doesn't have this option). So my question is – if a page is built using Page Builder, does Everything on that page have to be built using Page Builder? I hope you know what I mean. Sorry to bother you. I'll upgrade to Premium soon. Thank you

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Liz,

We don’t have any WooCommerce specific widgets at this time which is why I suggested that plugin.

I would take a look at the general WooCommerce Widgets and WooComemrce shortcodes.

Builder, can I add a slider on there which is NOT a widget of Page Builder?

If that plugin uses shortcodes, yes. If it doesn’t use Widgets or Shortcodes, you may not be able to use it – I would check with the developers.

So my question is – if a page is built using Page Builder, does Everything on that page have to be built using Page Builder?
I’m not 100% sure I understand what you’re asking, but as long as you’re able to output the plugin contents you should be able to use it.

Thanks, yes the slider plugin does use shortcodes. So but WHERE would I put the shortcode? Right now if I go to my home page, it has Page Builder open and I'm not sure where I can add the other shortcodes. I don't want to create a problem with the code or take any risks. I don't think I can do it. Would I click 'Revert to Editor'? Because I am using Vantage Theme and it has Page Builder automatically set up. If I click revert to Editor' it will ask me if I want to clear my page builder content…
I think it's too complicated for me

Maybe I should use the one you suggested

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Liz,

You should add the shortcode to a SiteOrigin Editor widget.

Only click Revert to Editor if you no longer plan on using Page Builder on that page as the conversion process (WP to PB and vice-vera) is imperfect.

    Ok thanks got it
