Self Linking Blog Titles

9 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 9 years ago

1. So, it looks like for this theme the blog title is not automatically tagged as the “H1” like it is for some themes correct?

2. Is there a way to remove “”this self-page”” title link code when viewing a specific post? As i believe it holds no added value SEO wise, don’t really understand why its a part of the theme/blog structure.

Thanks,
Dimarco Chris

    Hi Dimarco,

    1. The blog title should be nested inside of a h1. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    2. You’ll need to use a child theme to do this. Here’s a basic child theme for Influence. You’ll need to copy content.php to your child theme and change:

    <h1 class="entry-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php echo esc_attr( sprintf( __( 'Permalink to %s', 'influence' ), the_title_attribute( 'echo=0' ) ) ); ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h1>

    To:

    <h1 class="entry-title"><?php the_title(); ?></h1>

    Hi Dimarco,

    No – there are no known issues that related to social buttons. To clarify, what are you using to add these social buttons?
