Hello there,
I am seeking clarity on an issue I discovered.
In short, I edit my website on a desktop and do not regularly access the design via mobile (iPhone) which is not good.
Regardless, I recently accessed my website via mobile and was taken aback to see that the layout of the pages using SiteOrigin were really messed up.
Basically, the text was misaligned and the widgets were not centered and it looked terrible.
I am not sure how long people were experiencing this layout and I was in quite a panic.
Luckily, I tried playing around with some of the settings.
Turns out, by changing “”Use Legacy Layout Engine” set to “Always” my layout seems to go back to normal.
I would greatly appreciate some insight as to what the reason for this is and “whether this was due to a recent update to the SiteOrigin plugin.
I appreciate any help.
Hi :)
Thanks for reaching out.
Page Builder uses Flexbox for alignment. If you checked your site on an older device with an older browser it might explain the situation. Changing Page Builder to use the legacy layout engine always changes alignment from Flexbox to methods with support for older browsers.
Here is the browser support Flexbox has: https://caniuse.com/#feat=flexbox
Hope this helps a little.
Hello Andrew,
Thank you for your insight.
For the time being, I will simply monitor the layout via different devices while using the legacy layout setting.
Thanks again.
Please, ignore my reply, wrong thread. Sorry about that.
Ok great. The legacy layout is here for exactly this sort of situation.
Cheers for now :)
