Hi,
is there option to change search box placeholder without changing original theme?
As i suspected searchform in menu is hardcoded in vantage/parts/menu.php
Is it possible for you to change it so it is gonna use searchform.php file or some other way to make it possible?
Workaround is done since nobody answers :P
Copy /parts/menu.php file into child theme and make changes you want, but when there will be more changes in parent theme you must reapply changes to new version of that file.
Looking forward for better solution!
Best regards,
Jerry.
Hi Jerry
Thanks for running Vantage.
Glad to hear you made positive progress here. What you’ve done is exactly what I would have recommended. We try keep child themes in mind as much as possible when developing the theme so chances are you won’t need to make changes to menu.php moving forward. We’ll certainly keep your recommendation in mind with our future themes. Unfortunately, at this stage we’re unlikely to change that setup due to legacy users running child themes.
(Looks like your initial posting was five hours ago. I’m afraid we’re not that quick. We’re a small team and try our best to be prompt but it’s best to allow for a working day.)
