Search Icon not showing on Main Page

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 11 years ago

Hi,
I already opened a thread a couple of weeks ago, but my problem still exists.
My search icon and “back to top” icon is not showing on the Main Page, but the icons are showing on the other pages.
What could be the problem ?

    Hi Dave

Sorry to hear the issue is persisting.

Here is the error I can see when using my browser’s developer console:

2(index):1 Font from origin ‘http://novum.homepage.t-online.de’ has been blocked from loading by Cross-Origin Resource Sharing policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. Origin ‘http://www.blog.novum-led.de’ is therefore not allowed access.

The problem is that your site’s assets aren’t being loaded from the same domain that your site is being displayed on.

David Walsh covers an .htaccess fix that can be used in this situation: http://davidwalsh.name/cdn-fonts.

Alternatively you’d need to head to Settings > General and take a look at your WordPress URL vs Site URL. Your WordPress URL is where your files are hosted. You could look at carefully changing that setup.
