Hi,
I’m running Vantage Premium and working on a WordPress site for a foreign friend. Wondering if it’s possible to change the “Search” label in the search input box to something else, i.e. “Search” in another language?
Perhaps this could be added to the menus in the next update? :)
Please do let me know!
I’m interested too
Thread: Change Text of Search Widget
Hi DS
Apologies for the big delay in replying.
We’ve recently translated Page Builder, I’m sure we’ll see Vantage translations on the way soon. One method to resolve this would be to translate the theme using Poedit. Here is how that can be done.
http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-translate-a-wordpress-theme/
If you do go the translation route you’d need to make use of a child theme. Please find one here:

The other alternative is to use a default child theme for Vantage:
https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/vantage-child.zip
And copy searchform.php from the parent theme folder into the child theme folder. You could then manually translate the string in searchform.php contained in your child theme.
Child theme ZIP files can be installed from Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme. Customizer and menu settings will reset when activating a child theme. This is unfortunately normal.
Copying searchform.php from the parent to the child theme will involve FTP access to your server.
Let us know if you need a hand with anything.
