Hi
I normally access my website (footballandthefirstworldwar.com) on a macbook pro laptop, however I have just viewed it on a Windows 8 PC and noticed the dimensions were much different.
The main site logo and image are in proportion on my laptop, however on the PC the logo and circle icons are much smaller. Here is a screen shot as I may not be making much sense…
On the Mac Laptop: http://tinypic.com/r/10omjcx/8
On the PC: http://tinypic.com/r/200tcb4/8
What I want to know is, is it possible to edit some text to make the website display the same ratio no matter what size monitor/screen?
Or would it be possible to keep it displaying the same on the laptop (full screen) but box it off on the PC so it is still the same dimension and everything is the same proportion as it is on the laptop (the logo etc)?
Sorry if I’m not very clear in explaining what I mean!
Thanks
Hi Iain
Your site displays the same on my Retina MBP screen as on my Samsung so we’re all good in terms of a Retina vs non-Retina display difference.
Off the top of my head I’m really not sure what this might be about.
Can you quickly confirm for me – on the PC is the browser zoom set to 100% and is the text size set to normal, those are two different settings.
Seems silly for sure but let’s just rule those two out before we dig too deep.
Zoom is quick to get to by the content size setting is a bit deeper in Chrome under Advanced Settings I think.
Hi Andrew – Thanks for your advice, I’m out of the country at the moment so don’t have access to my desktop but I’ll try it when I get home.
For sure.
