This is my client’s site. Ever since updating to the new Site Origin builder, the slides show two images. The settings haven’t changed, my row is still set to full-width stretched.
When I inspect the element, it displays full-width as it should.
Any assistance to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Joseph
Thanks for reaching out.
Is the issue persisting after the most recent Page Builder update?
Hi Andrew,
Sorry for the late reply. Yes it is still happening after the most recent
Page Builder update. Any idea of a solve?
Thanks for the update.
A Slide Anything shortcode was inserted in your question. If the slider in question is powered by Slide Anything, try the following:
* Try seeking a working baseline. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for Page Builder and Slide Anything. Does the issue persist?
* If the issue does persist, temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen with all plugins except for Page Builder and Slide Anything temporarily deactivated. Does the issue persist?
Hi Andrew,
Yes it is a Slide Anything slider. I've deactivated all but Page Builder and SA and the issue persists – I have also previewed Twenty Nineteen and the slider shrinks down, displaying multiple slides.
Happy to move away from SA if there is another slider that you could recommend that would work full width with Site Origin?
Thanks for checking for a working baseline.
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
Absolutely – so sorry I didn't realise the hyperlink in my original question didn't work – the URL is southernpictures.com.au
I’m not sure what changed. My guess is the slider calculates width before the row stretches to full-width. The slider adjusts after using the left/right nav arrows. One option might be to test with a new page and see if Smart Slider 3 offers a different result. If you have a bit of a technical background you could also try switching to CSS full-width containers. That was my assumption as well – but I'm not sure why that would change after an update. I've actually tried download Smart Slider 3 but when doing so was advised it's not compatible with my version of PHP that for some reason I can't update – and when trying to upload the plugin manually I'm limited by the upload size which I also can't update due to the company not having FTP details for me to access their php.ini file – it's becoming a messy spider web really.
I do have some coding experience – I've used the code that you've referenced in that link but unfortunately what happens is that the carousel no longer takes up the full-width of the browser.
Manually uploading Smart Slider 3 unfortunately won’t solve the server PHP version issue.
Are the CSS full-width functions active now? Did you adjust the container width and selector to match your site?
Yeah, I went into the readme and tried to remove the PHP requirement but I think even if the file upload size didn't limit me it would still be wishful thinking!
No they're not active at the moment, as the site is still live (again really limiting not having a staging site to try this stuff on). I didn't change the container width as I thought 1140px would be the default of the site? As for the selector, I wasn't sure what value to put so I left it as is.
Thanks for the update.
You can also give the SiteOrigin Slider Widget a try as an alternative to the slider in use now.

The stated PHP requirement is most likely there to protect against a fatal error. By stating a min version the developers no longer have to ensure compatibility with lower versions.
1200px
is the content container width..body-wrap
is the selector you’re breaking out of.The CSS full-width functions won’t work without adjusting the width and selector for the theme in use. The default documentation values are from the SiteOrigin Corp theme. Each theme will be different. The above information can be accessed using your browser’s developer tool/inspector.
I just gave the SiteOrigin Slider a go – it works perfectly!
Noted on the PHP requirement, makes sense. I did give the CSS update a go as well, still had the same issue – I was looking at Chrome's Inspector to try and find that info, but my tech/coding knowledge is pretty heavily limited as I'm sure you can gather.
I think I'll run with SO Slider going forward – great solve. Thank you so much for your time and help with this, I really appreciate it!
Thanks for the detailed feedback. I’m glad to hear you’ve made progress. All the best with your site.
