Hello,
I’m making use of the Page Builder on my wordpress site. Every page consists of several rows, each displaying widget(s) in one or two columns.
When I’m in admin mode and I do a preview of the site, everything appears exactly as I’ve designed it. But when I leave admin mode, then several (but not all) rows are displayed on the wrong page. The behavior is even different between different browsers. But in every browser it consistently keeps on displaying everything wrong in the same way.
It seems to mix the rows where the configuration of the widgets is the same. For example: if you have page 1, with two columns with widget of type A and widget of type B, and page 2 with two columns with widgets of the same type, then on page 2 it displays the widgets of page 1.
Any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks
Hi Frankguns,
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
There are not so many plugins installed. Disabling plugins didn’t help. The theme I am using is Sydney from aThemes. The widgets that are displayed in the PageBuilder rows are the Service Type widgets from the Sydney theme. If I disable the SiteOrigin plugins, the correct underlying content of the widgets is displayed but in a raw format. So it seems that there is a conflict between the widgets from the Sydney theme, and the PageBuilder plugin.
Any idea to help me solve this? What is so different between admin and visitor mode if it comes to rendering a wordpress page ?
Thanks
Hi Frankguns,
Could you clarify what you mean by “admin mode”? I think you’re stating logged in vs logged out, correct?
If so, it’s possible that this problem might be a caching issue as typically caching doesn’t take place when you’re logged in (to avoid issues where logged in users see different things). The first thing to check is server-side caching through plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, etc. If you have any of these caching/performance plugins installed, try clearing their cache and see if that helps.
It might also be browser cache. Try clearing your browser cache, and then refreshing the page to see if that helps.
You can read more about this sort of issue on the WordPress codex.””
Hi Alex,
Yes I mean loggin in vs logged out. Caching isn’t the problem. No caching plugins are installed and clearing the server and client caches didn’t help either.
Any other ideas?
Thanks
Hi Frankguns,
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.
This is a private message.
Hi Frankguns,
I’ve opened your website in both Chrome and IE11 (Windows 10). When compared side by side they look same to me. Could you visually show me an example of some of the differences you’re referring to?
for example:

doesn’t seem to work; how can I include a word doc or pdf? I tried with Add Media…
Hi Frankguns,
I’m sorry if we’ve caused you any frustrations due to trying to attach your example. The add media option is a bit restrictive in the media that can be displayed and we’re looking into solutions to fix this problem.
Could you please upload the pdf / doc to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io and send me the link?
No problem. Here it is: https://u.teknik.io/nFvUi.pdf

Hi Frankguns,
Thank you for your patience. I’ve had a look at the pdf and I’m only seeing the Internet Explorer layout in both chrome and Internet Explorer which, as you’ve mentioned, is incorrect. As such I think we should try a plugin conflict test.
