Hi,
I am slowly making upgrades to our website/blog using Page Builder and overall it’s been good so far. However, a couple weeks ago, I noticed that some of the changes I would make to the row background (adding a fixed-style image behind a widget) wouldn’t show once I updated the page. I went back to check the settings for the background image, and there was nothing there; it’s as if it got erased once I updated the page. I tried again several times, and each time, after updating the page, the row would not show the background image and it was also gone from the settings. I usually can get it to show in “preview” but then as soon as I try to make the changes go live, the background image would disappear from both the settings and the page. I was using an alternate theme and recently switched to Vantage, but the same problem is occurring, so it doesn’t seem to be a theme problem.
It doesn’t occur for every row; I can occasionally get one or two to work, but then if I move them, the problem will often occur again. And in some cases (if it’s only one widget per row), I can make the widget itself have the background image instead of the entire row and that still works, but I want to be able to do it for the entire row on some of the rows. The widget used doesn’t seem to affect it either (I’ve mainly used SiteOrigin bundle widgets; occasionally I’ll use a third party one, but there seems to be no difference based on the widget used).
I have tried deactivating all non-page builder related plugins, duplicating/creating new rows in an attempt to see if it was just one corrupt row, changing the image used, changing from “fixed” to other options like parallax, and even creating a new page and importing the styles using the “clone,” but I can’t get it to work. I don’t think CSS will work since it keeps disappearing from the edit page setting, not just the published product. I do have the SiteOrigin Custom CSS plugin as well though.
If you want to see an example, you can visit our home page at http://www.thecgcs.org/ and if you look at the bottom row on the page, has white text and feature icons for social media and instead of the picture background, it’s a white background so you can’t even see it unless you highlight it with the mouse.
Is this something that can be fixed, or is it a bug that just has to be fixed on a future update for Page Builder?
Hi The CGCS,
Sorry for the delay.
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? I ask as we’re not to sure why this may be happening and I can’t see any signs on the frontend as to why this may be happening.

Just created it and it should have sent the link. I was able to get the row I mentioned on the homepage to work by clicking on the “dark background” option, but that didn’t work for everything. However, this morning I saw that the Siteorigin widget and widget bundle had updates and after the updates were complete, I think that may have fixed what was going on. Maybe the “disabled content cache” part of one of the updates is was what did it. But I don’t know if that’s a permanent fix or a temporary one.
Hi,
I suspect this issue may have been resolved as a result of the SiteOrigin Page Builder update. To clarify, we’ve been having issues with the Content Cache functionality and have removed the functionality pending a recode. To confirm, is this issue remaining at all?
Please note that the Dark Background setting is added by Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets.
