Round corners of search box and page wrapper

6 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 6 years ago

Hi,
I’m using the Vantage free theme and i want to round the corners of my search box (which is in the header area and using the built in WP search widget), and the main page wrapper (I’m using a boxed width page style).

I’ve added the following to the Additional CSS menu on the Vantage customiser menu.

body.responsive #page-wrapper {
max-width: 1200px !important;
min-width: 600px;
border-radius: 10px;
}

.widget-search {
border-radius: 10px;
}

For the page wrapper, the max and min widths work fine, but the border radius doesn’t. Nor does the border radius for the search-icon.

I’m no coder, and am obviously missing something.

Can anyone help?

    Hi Alan

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Unfortunately, we’re unable to assist with custom CSS adjustments within our free support scope. I wish we could but we’re a small operation with limited resources. Our premium support scope allows us the budget to help out with a much wider array of questions and challenges than our free scope.

    The header and footer would have to be targetted specifically, top left, top right and then for the footer, bottom left and bottom right corner.

    For the search field, are you sure you have the correct selector? Most likely you’ll need to targe .widget .searchform input.

    Thanks for this. Your advice on the Search widget worked

    Thanks Andrew, apologies for the brevity of my last reply, I was quite busy.

    I appreciate your comments on free Vs Pro for the Vantage theme, but I’m using Vantage to develop a web site for the local history society in the village where I live. Whilst not a registered charity, they are a not-for-profit organisation and licensing costs when free options are available is not a justifiable use of their limited funds, unless there are really compelling reasons to do so.

    I think we can live without rounded corners on the boxed page wrapper. 🙂

    Is there a way of changing the font colour of the tagline?

    Kind regards ,
    Alan Mott

    Hi Alan, not a problem at all. Sure, I’ll reply to your tagline thread shortly.
