Restore font and headline settings to default

By poulomi, 6 years ago. Last reply by Alex S, 6 years ago.

Hi,
I have a temporary WordPress website built through SiteOrigin, theme North.
37.60.224.167/~weignite/

I asked a web designer to change a few things in the blog setting, and I don’t know what he did, but now all the font settings of the site have gone completely haywire. 2 SiteOrigin Editors with the exact same settings of the headline look different. h2 text looks tiny. If I press an enter the settings change.

How do I restore all the font settings (especially h1, h2, h3, h4) to the original settings of the theme please?

If I download the theme again, it will wipe out all the customizations and information that I have already built in, right?

Would really appreciate an urgent answer as my site is about to go live in 2 days.

Thanks a lot
Poulomi

    Just to add, I understand a basic coding that the developer I gave it to, has done.

    If I don’t i press ‘Enter’ after the end of a text, it changes the style of the last sentence.

    for e.g let’s say I put a text in SiteOrigin editor with the setting h2 (default font size 18). after the last line of the text, if I don’t press enter, tahole the last line of the text changes to a tiny font size.

    He says he can’t fix it as he didn’t do any changes. Please help.

    Also I see some errors in Appearance > Editor, where it says ‘Outline should only be changed in Focus’.

    Can you please suggest solutions? Thanks a lot!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Poulomi,

    North doesn’t include font size settings by default so this must have been done with CSS or with a third party plugin. You have SiteOrigin CSS installed and that has some custom CSS added. This CSS can be found to WP AdminAppearanceCustom CSS. Regarding plugins, I’m unsure what may have been used but I would take a look at your plugin list (WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins) to see if you can spot any plugins that cause this issue.

    Can you please clarify which text is displaying differently? I ask as I can’t seem to see the text you’re referring too but that could be due to my unfamiliarity with your theme.

    Hi Alex,
    Thanks for the response!
    Yes I think he changed some CSS in the Custom CSS editor. Doesn’t seem like he installed plugins.

    For the text changed, please look at these URLs:

    http://37.60.224.167/~weignite/services/the-webpower-programs/
    See the text right below the hero image? How small it is? Supposed to be h2 setting.

    Or this page:

    http://37.60.224.167/~weignite/services/contract-based-programs/
    See the last lines of text on all of them? Plus the buttons are huge!

    i see lots of edits in the Custom CSS, not sure which to change, to fix that in the whole site. otherwise I have to delete the whole custom CSS.

    Also the menu hover. If you point to “our services” in the menu, the sub-menu doesn’t fit inside the box. if you point to “about us”, you see the sub-menu is right align. can you pls tell me how to change that?

    Thanks a lot! And Merry Christmas, btw :)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Poulomi,

    The text is smaller due to some custom CSS added to WP AdminAppearanceCustom CSS:

    .textwidget>:last-child {
      font-size: 12px;
    }

    Plus the buttons are huge!
    That’s due to your settings. You’ll need to adjust your button settings to reduce their size.

    Also the menu hover. If you point to “our services” in the menu, the sub-menu doesn’t fit inside the box. if you point to “about us”, you see the sub-menu is right align. can you pls tell me how to change that?

    I can’t seem to see what you’re describing. Can you please clarify what box you’re referring too? For reference, this is what I see:

    Hi Alex,
    I removed the CSS you mentioned in Custom CSS, and now it’s great, thank you very much!

    For the menu, I can send you a screenshot, but not being able to upload the image here. How can I send it to you?

    You mentioned I can also adjust the button settings. But I can’t seem to change the size of the buttons. Where can I do that from please?

    Thanks a lot :)

    Hi Poulomi,

    You’ll need to upload the image to a third party image hosting service, like Imgur or vgy.me, and send me a link to the image. Sorry about this!

    You mentioned I can also adjust the button settings. But I can’t seem to change the size of the buttons. Where can I do that from please?

    Please open the button widget and open the Design and Layout settings group. Adjust the Padding and (if desired) the Width setting.
