Responsive Slider

I am working on a page using the SiteOrigin PageBuilder Slider Widget in the Horizon Creamery Theme. I am trying to make the slider images responsive (scale down on mobile so that you see the entire image). I like the Cover option for the background, but it does not allow the photo to scale down.

If I switch to the Contain option, it scales down, but leaves the white space under which looks bad. Is there something I am missing?
