Responsive problem with background image

8 years ago · Last reply by leonie 8 years ago

Hi!
For the first time I have a problem working with the Pagebuilder, usually everything works great!
I use the Vantage theme with the Themebuilder an I want a fullscreen background with some content on top of it. I gave a few rows the same background with a fixed position. When resizing the browserwindow it seems to be responsive, and everything works fine but on real devices the background becomes huge, especially when there is a lot of content. I thought it would be better for mobile devises to skip the fullscreen background but on the Ipad in landscape position it behaves like the desktop layout and the background still becomes huge. You can see what I mean on this page: http://www.theaterkwadraat.nl/reacties/
I hope you can give me some advise how to fix this problem.

Thanks in advice,
Leonie

    Hi Leonie,

Unfortunately, fixed backgrounds are disabled (by Google and Apple) on mobile devices for performance-related reasons.

Regarding the very large zoom in. That’s an iOS issue with how they disable fixed backgrounds but oddly, that issue shouldn’t be happening anymore. To clarify, is it still happening for you? If so, what device are you testing with?

    Hi Alex,

Thank you for your response. I found a solution by disabling the fullscreen background of the lower rows for mobile devices. But on landscape position on my Ipad the css behaves like the main style, not for mobile devices. For this site I’m ok now but I hope to find a solution for future projects. I’m testing on desktop pc and Imac, Iphone 5, Ipad and Google Chrome webdevelopers tool (where all functions work perfect, different from ‘live’..)

    Thanks,
    Leonie
