Hello,
I want a blog page with a sidebar just like the default. However, when I renamed “Blog” to “Journal”, the sidebar disappeared. For the life of me, I can’t figure out how to add it back in! Please help.
Also, please note that the page I renamed definitely had a sidebar immediately prior to renaming it. So weird.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Bodhichitta,
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
Are you using a plugin that allows you to set page specific sidebars? I ask as it’s possible that plugin works based on the page name.
Hi Alex,
Yes for sure: http://theawakenedheartproject.org/journal/ (I just renamed the default blog page and edited the URL – it’s not a newly created page).
No, I do not have such a plugin.
Thank you for your help! I appreciate it.
Hi Bodhichitta,
Preface (to prevent confusion): You’re actually not using our Vantage you’re the Vantage theme by AppThemes. For more information, please refer to this post Post: AppThemes Vantage and SiteOrigin Vantage
From what I can tell, their vantage has a specific sidebar for the blog page. This can be accessed by navigating to WP AdminAppearanceWidgets.
Oh my…I’m sorry! I know you are busy and I apologize for wasting your time. Thank you so much for your help, despite the fact that I asked in the wrong forum! I truly appreciate it. I use SiteOrigin in at least one or two of my other sites and love it.
I’m going to implement your suggestion. Again, thank you, Alex. :)
