I am using Vantage Premium theme. I had all sorts of trouble placing a background image in the masthead. Nothing would size properly. I would only see part of my background image.
I then decided to make that background image a logo, and place the logo in the masthead. There is all sorts of white space that I’d love to get rid of. Any ideas?
It seems to me that simply placing an image in the masthead should be easy to do. You’d think you should be able to simply place an image and have it scale to fill the space.
Anyway, if anyone can give me ideas for the best way to have an image show up, properly sized and visible in all device formats, I would be grateful.
Hi Gary
Sorry to hear about the hassle.
It would be best to use the logo field for your actual logo and use Appearance > Customize > Theme Design > Page > Masthead Background for the header background.
Could you please, re-upload the background so we can see how it’s rendering. Thanks.
Thanks, Andrew. That's what I eventually did. The problem I had (when I was trying to use the logo field) was that there was a lot of white space. But
I eventually found out that I had entered some extra custom CSS that was causing that, so it's all good.
Thanks again,
-Gary
Glad to hear you made progress. Feel free to comment here in the future if you’d like me to re-look at this challenge.
All the best.
