Removing cell padding and spacing

8 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 8 years ago

I have read many posts from people trying to eliminate cell padding from Page Builder rows. None of the proposed solutions have helped me.

I am using the Make theme with the the latest version of Page Builder plugin. I have created a page that includes one row along with the site header and footer. The row has one cell containing the Meta Slider widget. My goal is to eliminate the spacing on all sides of this widget so the slider images display without any background space between the header and footer.

Some of the posts that I have read suggested that padding can be removed by going to the Page Builder settings and changing the padding to 0. I have found a setting for padding but there is no field to enter the padding value. There is an option to change the bottom margin but setting this to 0 has no effect.

Any suggestions?

    Hi Bob,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

I am creating this site on my PC using Wamp so it is not on line at the moment. I can send you any of the CSS if that helps.

    Hi Bob,

Unfortunately, we really need to inspect the results. Please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Widgets tab. Set Row Gutter and Row/Widget Bottom Margin to 0. Save. How does that look?

If spacing remains, please navigate back to the settings and open the Widgets tab. Untick Add Widget Class and save. Is there any spacing left? If so, something else (likely your theme) is adding this spacing. Unfortunately, this isn’t something we can directly bypass without seeing your website.

Thanks again Alex. None of those changes had any effect. I already had bottom margin set to 0. I guess I will just have to live with this, at least until I take the site live.

    Hi Bob,

Unfortunately, this means that your theme is adding spacing. There’s no real way of us knowing what’s adding the spacing. Once you’ve pushed your website live, can you please send me a link so I can inspect (and work out) what’s adding the spacing?
