Removing borders around footer created with layout builder in Vantage theme

By garyk13, 7 years ago. Last reply by garyk13, 7 years ago.

Hi,
I need to create a footer that is split into 2 different rows with a different background color for each. I used the Layout Builder widget in the footer. I added 2 rows, with a SiteOrigin Image in each, and used the design option to set the background color of each row.

When viewing the results, there is a large border around each footer row. I need the footer to extend the full width of the container, and have no spaces above, below or between the rows. I tried adding the following custom css:

#colophon {
padding-top: 0px !important;
padding-bottom: 0px !important;
padding-left: 0px !important;
padding-right: 0px !important;
}

This only worked for the top. The bottom, sides, and between the 2 rows still have the padding. Any suggestions on how I can get rid of these?

Thanks for a great theme, and for any help you can provide.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Gary,

    To clarify, did you remove the row bottom margin from the first row? To do this please open the first row by clicking the wrench icon above the row and then head over to the row styles sidebar. Open the Layout settings group and set the margin to 0.

    Also, did you set each of the rows to full width? To do this please open the aforementioned layout settings group and adjust the row layout to full width. If you’re using the boxed layout, skip this as it’ll have an undesired look.

    If there’s still spacing present, do you have a public URL where we can take a look at your setup?

    Hi Alex,
    I hadn’t removed the row bottom margin when I submitted the question. Since then, I did find these settings and set the bottom margin to 0. Also, adjusting the padding around the rows I was able to widen the pictures to extend to the sides of the boxed container. So everything looks good now. Thanks for your reply.
