Remove “Theme By SiteOrigin” From Footer

By Batala, 10 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 10 years ago.

Hi,

I want to remove this specific link in the footer and I chose the child theme option. I am using a free vantage theme installation. The problem is that, when I upload the corrected footer.php file into the child theme folder, the footer itself goes into boxed layout size and one of my plugins (Floating Social Media Links) disappears from my website too. Please give me a clue what I should do?

Regards,

Batala

    Hi Batala

Are you uploading footer.php into a /parts/ folder contained in your child theme? If not, try that.

John, if you’re using the premium version, the attribution link should be removed automatically.

I am using the premium theme.

Before i upgraded to premium, i had edited my footer in parts/footer.php and after i upgraded my theme to premium and edited the footer again, my footer still shows blank and does not show my footer. Please help, how do i get my footer to show?

Sorry, actually i found the footer option in the theme settings. Thank you. However, i want to write a copyright with auto date showing the year and have tried

    ©

but this does’t show the year, it only shows the copyright sign

    Hi saifurv

Updating to premium will automatically remove the footer attribution in Vantage. In a few of our other themes you need to de-activate it under Appearance > Theme Settings.

Our future themes will have the option to put a dynamic year in the copyright space. Vantage unfortunately doesn’t have this. At the moment you’ll either need to leave it out or just manually update the year annually. Sorry I don’t have more there.
