Remove side bar from posts/blog page

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 11 years ago

I read a bunch of posts but I couldn’t find an answer. I am trying to remove the sidebar on my posts page. I have tried using jetpack to do this as well as woosidebar. I changed the page template. Nothing seems to work…the side bar remains on this page. In particular on one of my pages it actually has bumped the sidebar widgets down to the very bottom of the page somehow.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer! I am holding off on taking it live until I can resolve this. I want the side bar widges on all my other pages….just not on the blog…or at least if it is on the blog I wanted it placed properly, not bumped to the bottom.

Ok….right after posting I figured out how to make woosidebar do this. I created a new one that included all pages but the posts page and moved my widgets to that.

Just curious…was there any built in method I could do this, or is what I did the best way?

    Hi Michael

    Thanks for running Vantage.

Unfortunately only at a page level; it’s possible to select the Full Width page template which removes the sidebar. Alternatively removing all the widgets from the sidebar will remove the sidebar globally. But nothing built in to do what you’d like. Glad to hear you found a solution. Thanks for sharing!
