Remove Link From Featured Image or Better Yet, Assign It a Lightbox

I like the layout of the page when I use the Featured Image, however, it links to the blank page where the image sits flush left top.

I’d like to either link it to a lightbox function or take the link away altogether.

I was using NextGen gallery and was able to force a lightbox on featured images, however, I liked MaxGallery better, but when I switched over, I found MaxGallery doesn’t have that feature, nor could that plugin developer help me make it happen.

Thank you,
Mitch

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mitch

    Thanks for running Origami.

Featured images can be de-activated from Appearance > Theme Settings > Display > Display Featured Image. By default Featured Images aren’t linked on either the archive or post pages. You can see this default behaviour here: http://demo.siteorigin.com/origami/ and http://demo.siteorigin.com/origami/2013/05/06/up-in-the-clouds/.

I’m not 100% sure how the featured got linked, perhaps from the plugin side of things. What about trying Jetpack Carousel to get a lightbox going there?

    Andrew,

I’m a stupid idiot. I forgot I had written a bit of code in order to make those links and to style some diamond-shaped images differently. I was relying on NextGen Gallery’s forcing all images on the site to open in a lightbox, but when I bailed on NextGen in favor of MaxGalleria, that particular feature wasn’t available – and things broke. It was in my loop.php where I checked for if the image was among a list of IDs for the diamond-shaped works, then styled them with a different class, and everything got wrapped in an anchor tag as well.

    Duh on me.
