Hi Team SiteOrigin !

I’m trying to format my blog homepage, and want only the featured image from each blog to appear (no titles, or content preview)

So far I’ve managed to remove the titles using

.entry-title {

display: none;
}

But this leave me with an artefact of three dots below each image.

I’ve tried entry-content display none, but and while it removes the dots, it also removes the content from each blog page ! Obviously I don’t want that to happen.

And while this is likely related to the field I want to hide, how to I customise the horizontal spacing between the images on the blog home page ? I want it to be more-or-less the same spacing as the vertical spacing

Screenshot is here (I’m not linking to the page directly as it’s a ‘work in progress’ and likely to change as I keep working on it!)

Many thanks

Jay

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jay,

    I’d like to help you with doing this, but unfortunately, this is beyond the scope of the support we’re able to offer on our free forums. There is a fair amount of custom work involved.

    We do offer this level of support to our premium users, so if you’d like to upgrade to SiteOrigin Premium, then I can help you over email support.

    If you’d prefer not to upgrade to SiteOrigin Premium, then you can hire a WordPress developer from Codeable. They’ll charge you an hourly rate for any work done.

    Hi Alex, while I certainly respect the feedback Site Origin provide to users, and can appreciate that complex coding and customization matters cannot be addressed…… the three dots that appear are of no result of third party pluging conflict (I am solely running SO plugins, not one single other install), nor is there any detailed or messy custom CSS, with the ONLY custom code being what I mentioned above – one string, that’s it.

    Therefore these dots appearing are a result of core functionality baked in to the theme (along with any ‘in theme’ selections/deselections built in to the Unwind theme), since there is nothing else that could possibly cause a conflict.

    I am of the mind that when the three dots are not there, the margin issue will disappear. But… what ARE those three dots ? On code inspection, it shows

    And this relates to nothing withing a row or widget either, as I created a blank post and it’s there also (ie no possible conflict with an empty post!)

    Anyway – please leave this thread open for a while, as I will eventually work it out (I am not a coder so it will take me
    a few hours/days), and I will post the solution here for future users

    UPDATE:

    The fix appears to be:

    .home .entry-content{ display:none; }

    Didn’t change the spacing but I’ll work on that another time. Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jay,

    I’m glad to hear you were able to hide the dots. The dots are the post excerpt that was generated based on your post content. SiteOrigin Page Builder wasn’t able to output an automatic excerpt (due to there being no appropriate widget in the first row). You can avoid these dots by either creating a manual excerpt or by using the CSS you posted.

    I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be of assistance this time. Please be sure to post another thread if you have any other questions.
