Redirect Loop Issues. Need help asap.

New wordpress site went live last night. Homepage plugins were not working when anyone typed in the regular URL. It ONLY worked when added /index to the end of the URL. So because I didn’t know what else to do and for the sake of time, I did a redirect on the host server. NOW everything is messed up and I am getting redirect errors on all browsers. So again for sake of time, eventhough this is not a blog site, I did a custom setting to make “posts” show up on homepage. Not ideal need assistance to get static homepage working ok on all browsers! Please help asap.
